About Thembisile Xulu
Dr Xulu is currently the CEO of South African National AIDS Council Trust (SANAC) and Chairperson of the South African Global Fund Country Coordinating Mechanism. Dr Xulu serves on The Global Fund Board as the Constituency Focal Point for Eastern and Southern Africa.
As an esteemed leader in public health, Dr. Xulu has a wealth of experience as the previous Chief of Party of the EQUIP Consortium – the first fully African-led consortium of partners which Dr. Xulu led under Right to Care NPC. The consortium focused on the rapid scale-up of innovative HIV treatment and prevention strategies to achieve the UNAIDS 90-90-90 targets in more than ten PEPFAR-funded countries. She has held key leadership roles in for-profit as well as non-profit entities, driving significant advancements in HIV, TB and STIs prevention, treatment, care and support across Africa, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, Indonesia and The Caribbean.
