Dr. Milka Sokolovic

As Director General, Milka leads EPHA in improving health and strengthening the voice of public health in Europe. Previously, she was Head of Science at the European Food Information Council, and Director of the Advanced Programme of the European Nutrition Leadership Platform. She started her academic career at the Institute of Molecular Genetic & Genetic Engineering in Belgrade, before moving to the University of Amsterdam, where she worked as researcher in nutrigenomics, and lecturer in biochemistry, DNA technology, metabolism and genomics. Milka holds a degree in Biology from the University of Belgrade, and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Amsterdam.
