Matilde Rocha

Matilde Rocha is a final-year medical student from the University of Porto, Portugal, deeply committed to global health equity, bodily autonomy, and youth-led healthcare transformation. She believes that the perspectives of future healthcare professionals are indispensable in reshaping health systems to be equitable, evidence-based, and human rights-centered. Her advocacy focuses on advancing comprehensive sexual and reproductive healthcare and education, defending bodily integrity, and dismantling structural barriers to health access. Currently, Matilde serves as the Liaison Officer for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights issues incl. HIV and AIDS (LRA) for the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) (2026/2027). Previously, she served as the External Affairs Assistant for IFMSA’s Standing Committee on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights including HIV and AIDS (SCORA) (2025/2026). At the national and local levels, she served as National Officer on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (NORA) for the National Association of Portuguese Medical Students (ANEM Portugal), where she developed work on Policy and SRHR in the Medical Curricula, and as Local Officer on SRHR (LORA).
