About Jirair Ratevosian
Dr. Jirair Ratevosian is a public health scientist and policy specialist with more than two decades of experience advancing health equity, global health security, and the HIV response. He is a Hock Fellow at the Duke Global Health Institute, a visiting fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and a commissioner on the Lancet Commission on HIV and Artificial Intelligence. He also advises organizations working at the intersection of digital health, artificial intelligence, health service delivery, and HIV prevention. His career has included leadership roles at Gilead Sciences and amfAR, as well as service as Legislative Director to Congresswoman Barbara Lee. He began his career as a community organizer and has remained closely engaged with civil society, serving on nonprofit boards and bringing the perspectives of affected communities into policy and research. His research and commentary have been published in The New England Journal of Medicine, The BMJ, The Lancet, and TIME. Dr. Ratevosian earned a Doctor of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Master of Public Health from Boston University.
