About Jocalyn Clark

Dr Jocalyn Clark is a public health scientist, journalist, and medical journal editor with primary interests in global health, gender equity, and the social and political determinants of health. She was appointed International Editor of The BMJ in August 2022, re-joining the journal 20 years after starting her editorial career at BMJ. Previously she was an Executive Editor of The Lancet, Executive Editor at icddr,b in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and Senior Editor at PLOS Medicine. Jocalyn is an adjunct professor of medicine at the University of Toronto, an honorary associate professor at the Institute for Global Health, UCL, and an elected fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.
