About Georg Kippels

Born on 21 September 1959 in Bedburg; Roman Catholic; married. 'Abitur' university entrance qualification at Silverberg Gymnasium; Military service from 1978 to 1979; First state examination in Cologne in 1985; Second state examination in Düsseldorf in 1989; Has worked as a self-employed lawyer in Bedburg since 1989; Obtained his doctorate in Cologne in 1990. Joined the CDU in 1980; Member of Bedburg town council for the CDU from 1994 to 2024; Mayor of Bedburg-Mitte from 2000 to 2020; Deputy chair of the Mittelrhein CDU regional association; Chair of the Mittelrhein chapter of the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (the SME and Business Organisation of the CDU/CSU); member of the CDU Economic Council. Member of the German Bundestag since 22 October 2013. Since the 18th legislative period, Regular Member of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development; Regular Member of the Committee on Health since 2015; Regular Member of the Subcommittee on Global Health since the 19th legislative period; In the 18th legislative period, Deputy Member of the EU Affairs Committee. Since 7 May 2025: Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Health.
