Cities as a Platform for Health, Equity and Resilient Communities

This session will focus on the role of cities in fostering healthy and sustainable communities and ensuring co-benefits for society – health, well-being and climate resilience. It will convene stakeholders from government, civil society, academia and the private sector.

Speakers will bring their experience to demonstrate that action at the city level can deliver impact for people and the environment, describe what success looks like and elaborate on challenges that need to be overcome to improve people’s well-being and create more resilient communities.

Themes that speakers will address include: the importance of place-based and equity-sensitive approaches; co-creating solutions with local communities; the role of public-private partnerships; political leadership at city level; what it takes to demonstrate impact; and co-benefits for health, environment and society.
