About the session
Global health is being reshaped by geopolitical shifts, public financing constraints and growing burden of diseases, especially non-communicable diseases (NCDs). This is redefining how global health priorities are being set and by whom. As countries navigate competing priorities with limited resources, questions of governance, financing, and accountability are becoming increasingly central to improving health outcomes and expanding access to care.
This session will explore how global health governance and financing must adapt to meet today's realities, asking a fundamental question: who has the power to influence access to diagnostics, care infrastructure and innovation—and how partnerships can rebalance these inequities. The discussion will examine how governments, multilaterals, and industry can create more equitable and effective models for financing, value-based partnerships and localized capacity building in health system strengthening.
By outlining actionable pathways to redesign global health architecture for greater resilience, fairness, and impact the session will ensure that technological progress translates into improved outcomes for patients everywhere.
