About the session
Ensuring access to existing and new antibiotics is pivotal for reducing antibiotic resistance-related deaths. The complexity of ensuring an adequate and affordable supply necessitates the collaboration of multiple stakeholders and innovative approaches. Drawing insights from experiences with access to Tuberculosis (TB) drugs, vaccines and more, this focused session would bring key players from the private and the public sector to discuss how we can overcome challenges to increase access to antibacterial treatments and to strategize around the ideas and mechanisms potentially necessary to improve access to life-saving antibiotics.
The session will build on the United Nations (UN) High Level Declaration on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and focus on its operationalization and how to move towards implementation.
