Youth Engagement at WHS 2026

Young leaders and emerging voices are contributing to WHS 2026 in many ways, bringing their perspectives, experiences, and priorities into this year’s global health dialogue. By supporting the participation of stipend and fellowship recipients and youth-led organizations, while creating space for youth groups to host Side Meetings and convene discussions of their own, the WHS offers different ways for young people to engage throughout the Summit. Together, these opportunities allow young people not only to join the conversation, but also to connect with others, share their expertise, and help shape discussions on the future of global health.

Stipend and Fellowship Program

The WHS 2026 Stipend and Fellowship Program supports participants from low- and middle-income countries and individuals with lived experience to join the Summit in Berlin. 15 stipend recipients receive support for travel, accommodation, and participation, bringing perspectives and experiences from different regions and communities into the global health dialogue. The WHS Stipend Program is made possible with the support of the Wellcome Trust.

Youth Group Opportunity

Through the WHS 2026 Youth Group Opportunity, 40 youth-led organizations and groups receive complimentary access to all three days of the Summit. Representing different regions, communities, and areas of work, they contribute their perspectives and ideas to discussions, connect with global health leaders and fellow youth advocates, and engage across the Summit.

Youth-Led Side Meetings

Three youth groups are hosting their own Side Meetings at WHS 2026, giving them the opportunity to set the agenda and shape discussions on global health topics of their choice. The meetings bring together different perspectives and create space for youth-led exchange around the priorities and ideas they want to advance.
