FOUR PAWS is the global animal welfare organization that works to protect animals under direct human influence. Founded in 1988 in Vienna, Austria, the organization has offices in 16 countries and sanctuaries in 11 countries. FOUR PAWS, whose work is centred on three core principles: reveal, rescue, and protect, aims to bring about changes in politics, society, and the economy that benefit animals through projects, campaigns, and education. FOUR PAWS is an Annex E listed relevant stakeholder within the WHO Pandemic Agreement Negotiations, which means it has supported WHO Member States in the development of the international legal instrument on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response. Its work is based on scientific research, collaboration with multidisciplinary NGOs and experts, and extensive lobbying efforts.
