About Thainá Landim de Barros
Thainá Landim de Barros is currently a Senior Specialist at FOUR PAWS International, an NGO dedicated to improving animal welfare around the world. She is driven by a commitment to building a better and more equal world that supports the health and well-being of people, animals, and the environment, and she has dedicated her career to that goal.
She holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária (FMVA – College of Veterinary Medicine) at UNESP, in Araçatuba, São Paulo, Brazil, as well as a Master's degree in Animal Science from the same institution. She completed her PhD in Poultry Science at the Center of Excellence for Poultry Science/John Kirkpatrick Skeeles Poultry Health Laboratory, University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, United States. She subsequently worked as an Assistant Professor and Poultry Health Extension Specialist in the Animal Science Department/Center for Food Animal Health at The Ohio State University, in Wooster, Ohio, United States.
Throughout her career, Thainá has worked across a diverse range of topics, including epidemiology and public health, animal welfare, infectious diseases, nutrition, poultry husbandry, and the quality of animal products and processing plants.
