Brigadier General Stefan Lampl

Brigadier General Stefan LAMPL was born in Lilienfeld, Lower Austria, in 1969. After graduating from the Theresian Military Academy in 1992, he served in various command and training positions within the Austrian Armed Forces, including at the CBRN Defence School. He gained extensive operational and multinational experience through assignments with UNSCOM in Iraq, KFOR in Kosovo, and following the 1999 earthquake in Türkiye. From 2003 to 2006, he attended the Austrian General Staff Course. His subsequent assignments included positions at the Austrian National Defence Academy, as CJ4/Head of Logistics Division at the Multinational Joint Headquarters in ULM, and in the Austrian Ministry of Defence. In 2018, he commanded the Joint Logistics Support Group (JLSG) in KFOR, where he was responsible for multinational logistics support and the coordination of military and civilian capabilities. From 2018 to 2024, he served as Commandant of the Austrian Armed Forces Logistics School in Vienna, overseeing logistics education and training as well as international cooperation. Since September 2025, Brigadier General LAMPL has served as Director Logistics within the European Union Military Staff (EUMS) in Brussels, focusing on military logistics, Military Mobility and defence supply chain resilience. He is a graduate of the US Army Logistics University and has extensive experience in multinational logistics and Military Supply Chain Management. He is a member of the Science Council of the Austrian Ministry of Defence and a Board Member of the Austrian Logistics Association.
