About Revati Phalkey

Dr Revati Phalkey is a Global Health practitioner with over 20 years of experience in implementation research from West and East Africa, South and Southeast Asia and Europe. Currently she is Director of the International Institute for Global Health at the UN University based in Malaysia and Honorary Associate Professor for Global Health at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Prior to this, as Global Director for Health, Nutrition and WASH at Save the Children International she oversaw a portfolio of development related projects in 66 countries and humanitarian focused projects in over 54 countries exceeding US$350 million/year. Dr Phalkey has served as the Head of Climate Change and Health at the UK Health Security Agency where she co-led the national climate risk assessments. She was the health focal point for adaptation in the UK and to the WHO Regional Office for Europe and co-developed the regional zero regrets strategy for climate resilience. In this role she led health input into COP26 and served as member of the Steering Committee of the first ever Health Day at COP28. Dr Phalkey is contributing author IPCC AR6 and AR7 and lead chapter author for the UNEP Adaptation Gap Report on Health. Currently she is member of the Global Health Board of the World Humanitarian Summit. Dr Phalkey holds a PhD in Public Health (infectious disease surveillance) from the Heidelberg University Germany and a Masters in International Health with a specialisation in tropical medicine and disease control from the Humboldt University, Germany.
