About Obinna Eze

Dr. Obinna J. Eze, is a Nigerian academic, researcher, and professional practitioner specializing in Anthropology, Sociology of Deviance, and Criminology. His career is defined by a blend of academic research, roles in public health and project management. He holds a PhD in Sociology and Anthropology with specialty in Criminology and Sociology of Deviance from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He was previously the best graduating student in 2009/10 set of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT). Since April 2023, Dr. Obinna has served as an Anthropologist for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) in Abuja. In the project “Community-based One-health Participatory and Empowerment (COPE) Strategy”, Dr. Obinna led the Anthropology component where he conducted field ethnography on a residency period spanning across two years in Lassa fever endemic community in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Dr. Obinna has authored numerous articles, including studies on: Victimization: "Nigerian Criminal Justice System and Victims of Crime Neglect in Enugu Urban"; Public Health Corruption: Researching health sector corruption during the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria; and Crime Markets: Exploring stolen goods markets and criminal redistribution; amongst other impact factor publications.
