Dr. Jane Mounteney

Dr Jane Mounteney is Head of Unit (Substance use, harms and responses) at the European Union Drugs Agency and has been at the Agency since 2010. She has worked in drug research, policy and practice since 1994, both at a national and European level. In her current position at the EUDA she has an overall responsibility for the areas of drug epidemiology, threat assessment, early warning systems and laboratories and health and social responses. For many years she was lead writer on the European Drug Report and has authored numerous scientific publications. She also has an interest in the development of methodologies for earlier warning and identification of new drug trends and has been responsible for establishing a number of European and city level systems and projects in this field. In the past, Jane has worked at the UK-based Institute for the Study of Drug Dependence, and the Bergen Clinics Foundation in Norway. She has an MSC, an MBA and a public health PhD.
