About Imran Khan

Imran Khan is a strategist and science communicator who has spent twenty years working on how science and technology earn - or lose - public trust. His current work is focused on understanding the impacts of AI on human wellbeing, cognition, and relationships. He leads the Center for Humane Technology's work on Psychosocial Evaluations of AI. Previously he was Head of Public Engagement at the Wellcome Trust, where he oversaw the launch of the Wellcome Global Monitor, the first global study of trust in science and health. Imran was also the founding Executive Director of the UC Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics, Chief Executive of the British Science Association, and co-founder of the Climate Fiction Prize. He is the author of 'Psychedelics: The Essential Knowledge' (MIT Press, 2027). Born in the UK, he now lives just outside of San Francisco, California.
