About Francesca Colombo
Francesca Colombo, M.Sc., is Head of the Health Division at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation. She leads OECD work on health, providing internationally comparable data on health, applying economic and data-driven analysis to health policies within a cross-sectoral perspective, and advising policymakers and stakeholders on how to make health systems more resilient and people-centred. Issues Francesca covers in her role include: health systems resilience and value for money; health workforce; health spending and the financial sustainability; measuring of healthcare activities, inputs and outcomes (including the PaRIS initiative developing, standardising and implementing indicators of outcomes and experiences of healthcare); healthcare quality policies; ageing and long-term care; the economics of public health; pharmaceutical policies; and AI and digital health (http://www.oecd.org/health). The results of this work have informed policy-making processes at national and intergovernmental level. Ms Colombo is a member of the NUS-Lancet Pandemic Readiness, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Commission on COVID-19, the World Health Summit Council, the UK Health Foundation’s NHS Productivity Commission and served as co-chair of the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Health and Healthcare and member of the Lancet COVID-19 Commission. She has over 25 years of experience leading international activities on health and health systems.
