Qiao Jianrong, Coordinator, Health Systems and Health Security in WHO China. Qiao leads WHO China’s work on health system strengthening and the global health work including BRI and health and south-south collaboration.
With over twenty years of experiences in health system strengthening, and development, she has rich experiences ranging from health policy, strategy development to programme design and implementation. Before joining WHO, she led the UK Department for International Development’s health work in China with over 1 billion RMB health programme in China, in the areas of health sector reform, health policy researches, urban and rural primary health system strengthening, disease control, and global health. In her work with DFID, she effectively worked with key partners to support China’s 2009 health reform policy formulation. She was instrumental in initiating the Annual High level China UK Global Health Dialogue and the Annual China UK Development Forum, and successfully advocated the strategic partnership with State Council Development Research Centre in setting up China International Centre on Knowledge For Development (CIKD).
