Camilla Stoltenberg is the Director General of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, Oslo, Norway, and adjunct Professor at the Department of Global Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Bergen. She is an accomplished scientist, medical doctor and epidemiologist. Dr Stoltenberg has played a crucial role in the strategic development of key infrastructures for research in Norway such as the national health registries, biobanks and population-based cohorts, such as the Norwegian Mother, Father and Child Cohort Study (MoBa). She is involved in scientific and strategic projects nationally and internationally and has recently led an expert committee on gender differences in school performance. The Norwegian Institute of Public Health is responsible for advice to the government, local authorities and the population on emergency preparedness and response. Camilla Stoltenberg has been particularly engaged in promoting openness, transparency, independence, communication about scientific uncertainty, and community participation prior to and during the covid-19 pandemic.
