About Prof. Dr. Bernhard Hube

Prof. Bernhard Hube is a microbiologist with a focus on human pathogenic fungi, Head of Department Microbial Pathogenicity Mechanisms at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology – Hans Knöll Institute, and Professor of Microbial Pathogenicity at the Friedrich Schiller University, Jena. He received his PhD at the University of Göttingen, spent his postdoctoral time in Aberdeen, UK, and Hamburg, and was Head of the Division “Mycology” at the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin. Prof. Hube recently received an In-House Professorship of the Center for Sepsis Control & Care in Jena and is Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology.
