Asela Iddawela graduated from the University of Kelaniya in Bachelor of Commerce in the year 1982 and he joined United Motors Lanka Ltd in 1983 and served up to 1984 as a Market Intelligence Officer.
From 1984 to 1987 he served as a Market Research Investigator in Ceylon Tobacco Company Limited. Leaving this Company in June 1987, he joined Sri Lanka Cement Corporation as a Marker Research Officer and served upto December 1994.
He left Cement Corporation in May 2000 and joined Holcim Lanka as a Sales Analysis & Communication Manager and gained experience in handling the sales team of the Company. Leaving Holcim Lanka from 2002 to 2004 he served as an AFR Marketing Manager and established a new market industrial and agricultural waste from September 7th 2007 to 2010 he served t as the Commercial & Logistic Manager and was responsible for supply chain planning and effective fleet management while ensuring the on time qualitative alternative towards fuel supplied to Holcim Lanka Operations.
From September 2010 to March 2013 he was holding the Post of General Manager at Geocycle (Professional Waste Manager Uni of Holcim Lanka) and was helped the overall business responsibility of the Geocycle business unit.
From March 2013 to July 2015 he served as the Vice President on Sustainable Development and External Affairs.
Mr Iddawela also serving as the Project Director – Renal Disease Prevention Taskforce at Presidential Secretariat from June 2015 todate.
He is also a Director of Lanka Logistics and Technologies Ltd.
Presently he is serving as the Chairman, Sri Lanka Land Reclamation & Development Corporation and also of the two subsidiary companies of the Corporation i.e. Land Reclamation & Development Company Limited and LRDC Services (Pvt) Ltd
30 years management experience in market research, marketing & sales, co-ordination and higher level stakeholder’s management with Managing corporate crisis and contingencies advocacy area as an advisor to CEO in a top Sri Lankan blue chip company. Foreign business and corporate workshop experience for management leadership and business sustainability are assets he earned on his long multinational corporate career. Social work and professional networking are his hobbies and esteem activities.
