Charlotte Wilming

Charlotte Wilming is Executive Director of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), the global federation, representing more than 250 diabetes associations across over 150 countries and territories. She leads IDF's efforts in strategic partnerships, advocacy, and the development of multi-stakeholder programs that drive measurable impact for people living with diabetes worldwide. A key focus of her work is strengthening the organization's ability to define, track, measure, and demonstrate both quantitative and qualitative outcomes that contribute to better health and stronger health systems. Before joining IDF, Charlotte spent 21 years with PharmAccess Foundation International, where she held a variety of leadership positions, including 17 years as Program Director. During her tenure, she built a strong track record in creating and managing multi-stakeholder partnerships across Sub-Saharan Africa, working to transform healthcare systems and expand access to quality care. She spearheaded innovative health system initiatives, including the past 4 years pioneering a pharmacy-led project in Nigeria, which combined digital and physical healthcare delivery models, including ncd’s, to improve access and continuity of care. An impact-driven partnership builder, Charlotte has been the driver and core team member of the Digital Connected Care Coalition, a multi-stakeholder alliance committed to accelerating the digital transformation of healthcare as a pathway toward Universal Health Coverage in low- and middle-income countries by 2030. She is a strong advocate for cross-sector collaboration and believes that bringing together governments, healthcare providers, civil society, academia, financiers, and industry is essential for unlocking sustainable funding mechanisms and scaling innovative digital health solutions. Driven by a passion for reducing health inequalities, Charlotte is known for her ability to unite diverse stakeholders around a shared vision, mobilize resources, and translate strategy into action. Her expertise spans global health, health system strengthening, digital health innovation, strategic philanthropy, partnership development, advocacy, and impact measurement. Charlotte holds a degree in Management for the Non-Profit Sector and has pursued further studies in Strategic Philanthropy in Emerging Markets of Cambridge Judge Business School and Finance for Non-Financials of Erasmus Business School. She regularly speaks on global health, chronic disease prevention, healthcare innovation, public-private partnerships, digital transformation, and the role of collaborative leadership in achieving sustainable social impact.
