A member of the Mexican Foreign Service since 2015, he has over 10 years of experience with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and in the diplomatic field. His career has been primarily dedicated to representing Mexico at the United Nations headquarters in New York and Geneva, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and various international conferences.
Before his current assignment at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, he served as Chief of Staff to the Legal Adviser of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also worked as an adviser for legal matters at the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the OECD and as Deputy Director for Nuclear Disarmament at Mexico’s MoFA. Additionally, he was part of the diplomatic team that represented Mexico on the United Nations Security Council from 2009 to 2010.
He holds a law degree from Universidad Iberoamericana, a Master of Laws from Georgetown University, and a Master's in International Relations from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po).
