Dr. Dipendra Khatiwada (born on 22nd September, 1984 in Jhapa, Nepal) holds MBBS degree from College of Medical Sciences, Kathmandu University (2010) and postgraduate degree, MD in Community Medicine from Kathmandu University (2017).
Dr. Dipendra joined World Health Organization, Nepal in August 2019 and currently serving as Surveillance Medical Officer-Link Person for Programme for Immunization Preventable Diseases, in the central office, Kathmandu supporting National Immunization Program of Nepal. Before relocation in central office, he served as Surveillance Medical Officer in Janakpur Field Office, Province 2, Nepal supporting provincial immunization program, VPD surveillance and other immunization related activities. Before joining WHO-IPD, he served as lecturer in the Department of Community Medicine, College of Medical Sciences for two years. His area of work involved teaching learning activities of undergraduate medical students, support and coordinate various community health activities, government health activities in district, supports organizational management and strategy developmental works. He also served as Coordinator of DOTS clinic and Community Health Services, Member of Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response Committee, Managing Editor of Journal of College of Medical Sciences and Member of Institutional Review Committee.
During the last 9 years he has been actively involved in the areas of prevention and promotion of health, treatment, rehabilitation, health management and administration. Also, he has worked in the areas of health research and scientific publications. He has many publications in his credit in national and international journals.
