Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra is a prominent Pakistani politician who served as the Provincial Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Finance and Health from August 2018 until January 2023. During this period, he was also a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Jhagra is widely recognized for spearheading significant reforms in both the health and finance sectors, which have positioned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa—a relatively small province—as a leader in governance and reform within Pakistan. Some of his achievements include the launch of the Sehat Sahulat Program, a Universal Health Insurance program covering essential medical services, surgeries and hospitalisation, the outsourcing of hospitals in newly merged districts of the province, the operationalization of tertiary healthcare facilities, such as the 200-bed Women and Children Hospital in Charsadda; and the introduction of a centralised ambulance service with 300+ ambulances.
Before entering politics, Jhagra was a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he played a key role in the energy and public sectors and led the launch of McKinsey’s office in Pakistan. He holds an MBA in General Management from the prestigious London Business School and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
