Oliver Appelhans is the Head of Specialty Business Division at Daiichi Sankyo Europe, where he leads the Cardiovascular business across the region. He previously served as Vice President of Commercial Operations and Affiliate & Partner Management, and as General Manager of Daiichi Sankyo Germany.
With a diploma in chemistry, Oliver began his career at AstraZeneca in 1988, where he gained valuable experience in various therapy areas and steadily rose through the ranks. Over the years, he has taken numerous leadership and executive development courses, further enhancing his expertise in the pharmaceutical industry.
Oliver has successfully lead launch programmes for cardiovascular medicines across Europe, focusing on patient engagement and addressing unmet medical needs. His efforts have significantly supported clinical communities and healthcare systems in managing cardiovascular disease.
A natural networker, Oliver believes in the power of partnerships to address complex medical challenges. He collaborates with patient organizations, healthcare bodies, and payor entities, recognizing the need for a nuanced approach to cardiovascular care.
