Ahmad Helmi is a nonviolent Syrian activist, speaker, and storytelling coach who has been at the forefront of the fight for justice and human rights in Syria and the region for over a decade. His dedication to this cause was tested through enduring three years of imprisonment and torture for his peaceful activism. Undeterred, after he was released from prison he founded the TA'AFI Initiative. This groundbreaking Syrian survivor-led organization provides critical support and protection to victims of enforced disappearances and torture. Ahmad's work extends beyond TA'AFI. He played a pivotal role in establishing the (IIMP). Additionally, he co-founded INOVAS, an international network for victims' and survivors, further amplifying their calls for justice.
