Han Steutel is Senior Vice president & General Manager of Bristol-Myers Squibb in Germany. He started his career in 1987 with AstraZeneca in the Netherlands and joined Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1999. Prior to his appointment in 2008 as General Manager in Germany, Han worked as General Manager in the Netherlands for 5 years. Beyond his work for the American Biopharma Corporation, he has also been actively working for industry associations, in roles such as Chair of the Pharmaceutical Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, Board member of the American Chamber of Commerce – both in the Netherlands and Board Member and President of Nefarma, the Dutch association of research based pharmaceutical companies. Since 2009, Han has been a member of the board of vfa, the German association of research-based pharmaceutical companies and in 2016 he has been elected Chairman of the VFA Board. In 2016 he has also been appointed to become a Board member of AMCHAM (American Chamber of Commerce) and since 2017 he is a member of the board of BDI (Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie), the Association of the German Industry. He is also Chairman of LAWG (Local American Working Group).
Han Steutel has a degree from Leyden University and is married with three children.
