About Dr. Ursula von der Leyen
Ursula von der Leyen is a Belgian-born German politician who was the first woman to serve as Germany’s minister of defense (2013–19). In July 2019 she became the first woman to be elected president of the European Commission. Ursula von der Leyen is a licensed physician and was born on 8 October 1958 in Brussels. She is married and has seven children.
