Since 2010, Margianta has been engaged in local and global development networks, particularly on youth participation, global health, and social justice. Margianta's experience ranged from grassroot works to high level advocacy. He specializes in Global Health (tobacco control and commercial determinants in health), Youth Participation (social change, welfare and well-being), non-profit organizing and community building (youth-led communities), along with creative campaign and advocacy (social justice and development issues).
In 2018-2020, Margianta led the Young Health Programme at Lentera Anak Foundation to improve primary healthcare and NCDs prevention for adolescents. He also initiated the tobacco control focused Youth Movement for FCTC in 2015, founded the anti-slavery non-profit Emancipate Indonesia in 2017, and joined UNFPA Youth Advisory Panel in 2019-2020 to promote Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). Recently he also co-initiated Indonesian Youth Council for Tobacco Control (IYCTC) in 2021.
Margianta is now working as the Young Leader Consultant for UNICEF HQ’s global health program to promote NCDs prevention among youth. He has been invited to speak on international forums, including 12th APACT 2018, World Health Assembly 2019, and One Young World where he spoke in front of 2.000 One Young World where he spoke in front of 2.000 people from 193 countries.
