Full Professor at the University of Sao Paulo Medical School, Department of Surgery and Anesthesiology Division. Currently, Professor Auler is the Acting Dean of the Medical School, elected in October 2010, and the Acting Chair of the General Hospital Board since January 2011, where he served as Clinical Director from 2007 to 2010. He also participates in the following boards: President of the Faculty Members since January 2011, President of the Board Director of the Cancer Institute of the State of Sao Paulo - Octavio Frias de Oliveira since January 2011, Member of the Zerbini Foundation Board of Trustees since 2011 as Acting Dean of the Medical School, President of the University Hospital Advisory Board since January 2011, President of the Medical School Foundation Advisory Board and Board of Trustees since January 2011 and President of the Board of Trustees of the Pró-Sangue Foundation since January 2011. Offices and positions held: Deputy Chief of the Surgery Division Council from 2009 to October 2010, Member of the Cardiology Institute Board from March 2007 to April 2008, (Alternate Member from 2009 to 2011), Vice-President of the Board Director of the Cancer Institute from 2009 to 2010, Deputy Member of the General Hospital Advisory Board from 1998 to 2002, Chief of the Surgery Division from 2000 to 2001, Clinical Director of the Zerbini Foundation Board from 2007 to 2011, Vice-Coordinator of the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program and Coordinator of the Lato Sensu Anesthesiology Graduate Program, both at FMUSP. Professor Auler is specialized in Anesthesiology and in Intensive Care. He also coordinates Anesthesiology activities at the General Hospital and Surgical Intensive Care activities at the Cardiology Institute, Cancer Institute and at the General Hospital. His Clinical Research activities focus on the following areas: Fluid restitution, Hemodynamic Monitoring, Mechanical Ventilation, Sepsis, Patients at high surgical risk and Experimental Hemodilution at FMUSP Medical Investigation Laboratory.
