About Sara Causevic

Sara Causevic is a Lancet Commissioner and global health policy strategist with extensive experience working across multilateral institutions, governments, and the private sector to strengthen health governance, systems, and diplomacy. She serves on the Board of Directors of Women in Global Health and is the co-founder of Women in Global Health Sweden. She has held roles with UNFPA, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, contributed to infectious disease prevention at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), and led regulatory affairs for Novartis and Sanofi. Her consultancy portfolio includes the World Bank, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and other agencies, advising on health policy, multilateral engagement, health systems, and patient engagement. Currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stockholm University, she has published widely on gender equality, migration and health, and infectious disease prevention. A Fulbright Scholar, she holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), an MSc in Global Health Policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK), and attended the Master of Public Health programme at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (USA) as a Visiting Research Scientist at the Center for Public Health and Human Rights.
