Dr. Eva-Maria Schwienhorst-Stich is a medical doctor with clinical working experience in pediatrics and tropical medicine.
She has a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Public Health (DTMPH) from Charité, Berlin and a Master´s degree in International Health from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. She works as medical advisor for the German Leprosy and TB Relief Association (GLRA or DAHW), an NGO with health and social projects in 20 countries in the fields of tuberculosis, leprosy and other tropical neglected diseases.There she is responsible for the health projects in Asia and South America. She is a current member of the German board of IPPNW (International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, Physicians for Social Responsibility) and a past board member of the German Society of Tropical Pediatrics (GTP). She is further involved in various innovative international teaching projects in the field of global health and runs a summer school in tropical medicine and global health at the Medical Mission Institute in Würzburg, Germany. She is also involved in clinical care as well as advocacy in the field of refugee health.
