Claudia Langenberg is Professor of Computational Medicine at the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH) and MRC Investigator and Programme Leader at the MRC Epidemiology Unit at the University of Cambridge. She studied medicine in Münster, Germany, and moved to the United Kingdom to obtain her master’s and PhD in epidemiology and complete specialist clinical training in public health medicine. After spending a year at the University of California San Diego, her research focused on the genetic basis of metabolic control, and her team studies its effects on health through integration of molecular with clinical data in large-scale patient and population-based studies. Prof Langenberg has over 250 publications, many in high-impact journals, and is one of the most highly cited scientists in her field.
