Farid Lamara is currently Head of the Strategic Unit at Expertise France – the French leading agency for international technical cooperation. Farid holds a PhD in international relations and Diplomacy and is post graduated in Social Science and Public Health.
Farid has been working in the field of European and International Cooperation for 25 years, particularly in the human development sector, with a strong focus on health issues. He worked for a wide range of organizations – Civil Society Organizations, International Organizations, French Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, Governmental bodies involved in development Cooperation – as researcher, program developer, program implementer and strategic adviser.
He worked for 10 years at the French ESTHER Initiative which was particularly active in the field of Human Resources for Health in hospital settings in low income countries – on HIV/Aids, Mother and Child Health and Patient Safety. Farid has also been leading the General Secretary of the European ESTHER Alliance for 12 years.
As Head of the Strategic Unit at Expertise France Farid contributes in defining the main strategic orientations of the Agency. He has a leading role in defining and implementing the Gender strategy, the Monitoring and Evaluation policy and the ethical approach of the agency.
