Dr. Mutsa Bwakura-Dangarembizi MBChB, MMed, MSc (Clin Epi) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of Zimbabwe, College of Health Sciences, in Harare, Zimbabwe.
She has served as site investigator and project leader in HIV clinical trials conducted at the University of Zimbabwe Clinical Research Centre since 2006 and site leader for the Harare Family Care Clinical Research Site that is under the NIH funded UZ-UCSF Clinical Trials Unit. Both units conduct HIV clinical trials in children, adolescents and pregnant women.
Dr. Bwakura-Dangarembizi has been involved in a number of multicenter HIV clinical trials including IMPAACT P1060, P1072, P1070, ARROW and REALITY.
She was part of and led a team that established the Parirenyatwa Hospital Paediatric HIV clinic in 2004, which provides comprehensive Paediatric HIV care and treatment to more than 3000 children.
Her clinical and research interests are Paediatric HIV and its co-morbidities as well as child undernutrition and other paediatric infectious diseases.
