Dr. Andreas Gilsdorf is a physician and public health expert with over 23 years of work experience in national and international settings. Currently, he works as strategic advisor and coordinator for the president of the Robert Koch Insitute, the German Public Health Institute. Before that he led the German Epidemic Preparedness Team (SEEG) at Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), overseeing pandemic readiness efforts in partner countries worldwide in a consortium of five German scientific institutions. He previously served as Director of Epidemiology and Public Health at Ada Health GmbH, shaping digital health strategies and exploring the benefit of health apps for public health purposes. Dr. Gilsdorf consulted also for esteemed institutions like the World Health Organization (WHO) and ECDC, contributing to multisectoral coordination guidelines and outbreak investigations. As Head of Surveillance and Deputy Director at the Robert Koch Institute he was responsible for the infectious disease surveillance system and preparedness in Germany. His academic journey includes the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP/EPIET) and Occupational Health Specialization.
