About Leah Werner

Dr. Leah Werner is a physician, public health leader, and climate-health strategist whose work bridges health systems, equity, and resilience. As Medical Director for the OHSU Health Integrated Delivery System, she leads system-level initiatives that integrate climate adaptation, population health, and clinical excellence across care delivery. At Oregon Health & Science University, she directs the Primary Care Climate Change & Health Program and serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, advancing sustainable primary care models that improve outcomes for vulnerable populations. Her areas of expertise include epidemiology, family medicine, primary care, applied analytics, health systems design, community resilience, and global adaptation strategies. She collaborates with academic institutions, governmental agencies, and philanthropic partners on interventions that center climate equity, gender justice, and inclusive finance. Dr. Werner’s recent participation in the Clinton Global Initiative Climate Working Group and her invitation to speak at the World Health Summit 2025 reflect her leadership at the intersection of climate, health, and policy. She earned her MD from Oregon Health & Science University and an Executive MPH from Yale University and brings experience in cross-sector partnership, program design, and evidence-informed implementation.
