About Nomi Fuchs-Montgomery
Nomi Fuchs-Montgomery leads the Family Planning team’s work to sustainably scale up proven, high-impact practices. Nomi lead’s two initiatives that focus on driving greater impact at scale at both the country and global levels by working with a broad range of partners across the family planning and reproductive health ecosystem. She manages a dynamic team that collaborates with the United Nations Population Fund, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, donors, country governments and other key stakeholders to address evidence gaps and system-level barriers to support the accelerating the adoption of proven family planning practices. Nomi joined the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in January 2015. Previously she led the Contraceptive Technology and Evidence and Innovation Initiatives and helped lead the Family Planning team’s approach to adolescents and gender-equitable programming. Before joining the foundation in 2015, Nomi was director of global partnerships and United States country director for MSI Reproductive Choices, where she was responsible for launching and leading the organization’s U.S. office and growing global partnerships. Nomi has more than 25 years of experience in the field of reproductive health, family planning, and HIV/AIDS, including collaboration with international bilateral donors, private foundations, UN agencies, nongovernmental organizations, feminist and youth-led organizations, the World Bank, and other finance partners. Her first professional assignment was as a Peace Corps volunteer in southeast Nigeria, where she worked on guinea worm eradication and developed a passion for public health.
