Professor Dr Ménard was born in Nantes, France.
He is a medical doctor with postgraduate degrees in investigative medicine.
Dr Ménard is Emeritus Professor of Public Health at Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers. Previously, he was Professor of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine Broussais-Hôtel Dieu in Paris and Head of Hypertension Department at Saint-Joseph Hospital, Paris and Broussais Hospital. From 1986-1989, he was Vice President and Head of Clinical Research and Development at Ciba-Geigy
Basel. Afterwards, Dr Ménard was Head of Cardiovascular Medicine at Broussais Hospital, Paris, President of National Health Conferences, Chief medical Officer at the Ministery of Health and Professor of Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine René-Descartes in Paris.
Furthermore, he was delegate of the director of Global Clinical Research of Ile de France at Assistance-
Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris.
In 2007, Dr Ménard published the Alzheimer Plan Report and was president of the Plan-Alzheimer Foundation
Scientific Council.
