Dr. Tatiana Wah, an American citizen, holds a PhD in Development Planning and Public Policy and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Rutgers University (USA), and a Bachelors of Arts in Organizational Behaviour and Management from Brown University (USA). She is the author of several books and articles on immigration, diaspora and development, social system structure and economic development in fragile states. Dr. Wah has over 25 years of experience in sustainable development practices and policies across the private, academic, government, and NGO sectors. She is well versed in the social, economic, political, and environmental aspects of development through her experiences as a university professor of
development practice, an urban planning and public policy advisor, and an implementing practitioner in a variety of development settings. Since 2014, Dr. Wah has been the Representative and Director of the UNOPS Congo Democratic Multi-Country Office (CDMCO), covering 11 countries in Central and Southeastern Africa (Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, the Republic of Congo, Madagascar and Rwanda). Prior to joining UNOPS, Dr. Wah was the Director of the Fragile States Program Center and Haiti Research and Policy Programme at the Earth Institute, Columbia University (USA), where she also taught Sustainable Development Practice, Development in Fragile States, and Urban Development in the Black World.
