Dr Thomas Ward is a Research Clinical Psychologist working at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. He is the Clinical Research Lead for the AVATAR therapy team (a digital relational intervention for distressing voices) and the SlowMo therapy team (a digital blended therapy for paranoia). He has played a leading role in large-scale randomised trials of both approaches, with current work involving UK-based and international implementation. His research focuses on: i) identifying the core processes which cause and maintain distress in serious mental health conditions; ii) using this understanding to develop novel scalable digital interventions.
