About Mahlet Degefu Awoke

I specialize in water supply, environmental resource management, and climate adaptation strategies, bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to my work. Currently completing a PhD in Agricultural Sciences, I focus on the adoption of climate-smart agriculture and agroecology practices in semi-arid regions. My research is centered on transforming food systems through sustainable practices that enhance food security, resilience, and environmental sustainability for smallholder farmers. With a BSc in Water Resource and Environmental Engineering and an MSc in Environmental Resource Management, my academic background complements extensive experience working with NGOs, research institutions, and consultancies across East Africa (Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania) and Europe (Germany, Sweden). Skilled in qualitative and quantitative research methods, water supply system design, proposal writing, and data analysis.
