After a training as a pharma sales representative, Jean began his career as Chief of Staff of Pharma CEO at Dr Karl Thomae GmbH. Later he moved to Boehringer Ingelheim where over the years, he has held senior roles as General Manager in Canada, Belgium and France. In 2010 he joined Boehringer Corporate as Vice President Europe, then US/Japan and eventually led the Human Pharma Regions until August 2017. In September 2017, he was appointed President, Boehringer Ingelheim France, responsible for both Human Pharma and Animal Health businesses at the critical time of the acquisition of Merial. Since January 1st, 2020, Jean is a Member of the Board of Managing Directors of Boehringer Ingelheim, responsible for Animal Health and is now based in Germany. Jean has a Master Degree in Private and Business Law from the University of Bordeaux, France and completed executive programs in General Management at INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France. He created with Ashoka Making More Health, a worldwide multi-million initiative, which supports the development of social entrepreneurship in health within and outside the company since 2010.
