Wolfgang Sunder studied architecture in Muenster, Zurich and Berlin and was awarded both a higher diploma and a doctorate. After completing his studies in 2002 he began working with Zaha Hadid Architects in London. As Head of Research at the Institute for Industrial Construction and Structural Design (IIKE) at the Technical Uinversity Brunswick, he has since 2008 been responsible for various research projects in the field of clinical design, and provides strategic advice to clinic operators. Since 2013, he has been responsible for the construction component of the InfectControl research consortium, whose aim is to build preventive infection protection into the planning and design of healthcare buildings. Dr Sunder is the author of the 2018 publication 'Bauliche Hygiene im Klinikbau' [Structural Hygiene in Hospital Design].
