Dr. Justina O. Seyi-Olajide, MBBS, FWACS, FACS, is a distinguished Paediatric Surgeon at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. She completed her medical training at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria and specialized in paediatric surgery at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, earning the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons and winning the Alinta Nwako prize for the best graduating trainee in paediatric surgery. She is committed to global health and global surgery, focusing on equitable surgical care in LMICs for children. Dr. Seyi-Olajide facilitated Nigeria’s National Surgical, Obstetrics, Anaesthesia, and Nursing Plan and currently leads its revision. She has published extensively, co-edited 'Pediatric Surgery: a comprehensive textbook for Africa’ and serves as an Assistant Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the West African College of Surgeons. She is a key contributor to the Africa Surgical Initiative 2030 and the Pan African Surgical Healthcare Forum and is a commissioner on the Lancet Commission on Investing in Health. She is on the board of the Global Initiative for Children’s Surgery and is a strong advocate for children's surgery globally. Dr. Seyi-Olajide represents a strong voice for surgical care and children’s surgery in the global health space.
