Dr. Andreas Schultz is a senior lecturer and pediatrician currently working as a scientist at University Hospital Bonn (UKB), Germany as well as a Senior Global Health Advisor for Malteser International (MI). He had previously been appointed as lecturer and academic coordinator of the depart¬ment of pediatrics at the College of Medicine, Uni¬ver¬sity of Malawi and has been working for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) since 2016. He is a senior medical officer and a consultant in paediatrics, tropical medicine and in¬¬ter¬na¬tional public health. Over the last 20 years he had various assignments to de¬ve¬loping coun¬tries mostly as head of programs, coordinator or advisor. He has a wide experience in strategic and operational planning in health project and pro¬gram management and is an academic teacher and researcher. Previously, Dr. Schultz was the country director of “Doctors of the World” Germany, an INGO supporting long term health and education projects worldwide with a strong focus on child and maternal health. His teaching and research interest are population dynamics with respect to primary health and education, implementation research in low resource settings and social determinants of health. Dr. Schultz also acts as a board member of several institutions engaged in inter¬national health. He is married and has 3 children.
