Subhanu Saxena

Subhanu Saxena is currently co-Managing Partner New Rhein Healthcare. In his role, he invests in companies that bring innovation whilst reducing the cost to healthcare systems. He brings extensive deal experience over multiple transactions with a deal value >$10 billion, spanning multiple geographies and industry sectors. As a Regional Director for the Gates Foundation, Subhanu shapes the Foundation’s industry engagement in Europe and is leading key global initiatives for the Foundation that can have Global Health impact. In addition, Subhanu is a Senior Advisor to Bain Capital Subhanu is a highly accomplished global executive whose experience has spanned markets in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. He has worked in various industries including Pharmaceuticals, FMCG, Consulting & Banking. He was recently the Managing Director & Global CEO of Cipla Ltd and prior to that was on the Pharma Executive Committee of Novartis Pharma AG. Subhanu graduated with an MBA from INSEAD - France, Fontainebleau, and a MA (Hons) in Engineering Science from Oxford University, both with distinction. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Sanskrit, and has a good working knowledge of French, German and Russian. He is a lecturer and teacher of Sanskrit and ancient Indian philosophy. He speaks at various global events, as well as writing on diverse topics relating to Vedic and Vedanta literature. He trained with scholars in the Sanskrit speaking village of Mattur, India. He is an authority on Advaita Vedanta, and is an Executive Committee Member of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in London.
