Mareli Claassens

I am a medical doctor and an epidemiologist with extensive research experience in infectious diseases that disproportionately affect poor people. I am fascinated by challenging questions that require a transdisciplinary approach, and I love engaging with experts from other scientific domains to flesh out hypotheses, conceptual frameworks and potential solutions. I am also a strong believer in public engagement and try to work closely with community members and other non-scientists.
